Welcome to Old Town's Cosmopolitan.

The Cosmopolitan Restaurant & Hotel is a unique and fun place to eat, drink and socialize. It is also a beautiful place to stay the night in Old Town San Diego State Park.

The new Cosmo features a full-service restaurant and bar, open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The menu includes American grill, seafood and Mexican-inspired dishes... burgers, steaks and pork, fresh local seafood, remarkable Mexican cuisine and a delicious assortment of seasonal desserts. You can enjoy dining in our beautiful orchard courtyard or any one of our comfortable indoor dining rooms.

Our culinary staff can create any menu you might want for a special or private event.

Happy Hour is honored from 4–6 PM every Monday through Friday.

Parking is easy if you know where to look!
Free parking is provided in a lot adjacent to the hotel, accessible from Juan Street, just north of Mason Street. There are several other free and paid parking options close by. You'll find a map here.

We are steps away from the transportation hub for the metropolitan trolley and commuter trains. There are acres of additional free parking at Caltrans at Taylor & Juan Streets after 3 PM on weekdays and all day on the weekends.

In addition to the restaurant The Cosmo is also a cozy 10 room bed and breakfast inn. All rooms are beautifully furnished with 1870's antiques and have private baths. Some rooms have unique bathtubs including some porcelin claw foot tubs, one pine wood tub and one hammered copper tub. Most of the rooms open on the veranda, with views out over Old Town and beyond.

The Cosmopolitan is surrounded with shops, museums, art, theater and more. We are also conveniently located minutes from San Diego International airport, downtown, Mission Valley, San Diego Convention Center, USD and MCRD.

Whatever your pleasure, we'd like to share with you this beautiful place in San Diego's history. We offer a special place to stay the night, delicious food at affordable prices and an incredible glance back into our community's heritage.

Come in for a look around, a bite to eat, a drink or a cozy overnight stay. Your enjoyment and dining pleasure have our full attention.

The Cosmopolitan dates back to 1827, when it was the Mexican adobe home of Juan and Refugio Bandini. In 1869 Albert and Emily Seeley purchased the home, added a second floor in American wood-frame construction, and opened as The Cosmopolitan Hotel, serving the community as a stagecoach stop and community gathering place through 1888. After many years of many uses, The Cosmo underwent a $6.5 million, 3-year renovation, completed in 2010, for which it won three prestigious awards for historic preservation. More of the building's history is available on our history tab.
